Mariska Hargitay (NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit ) will kick off TheatreWorks’ 23rd Annual New Works Festival, performing in a benefit presentation of the tour de force solo show Every Brilliant Thing. Direct from her Broadway engagement in the hit show written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe and as co-directed on Broadway by Macmillan and Jeremy Herrin, Hargitay will offer Bay Area audiences the opportunity to experience her acclaimed portrayal of this one person tour de force. Proceeds will benefit TheatreWorks and Joyful Heart Foundation, which has a local San Francisco Bay Area Committee. Joyful Heart Foundation is an organization founded by Hargitay that supports survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.

They won the 2019 Olivier Award and were nominated for the 2018 Grammy Award and the 2017 Tony Award for their book and score for Come From Away, with the show itself winning the 2019 Olivier Award for Best Musical, three 2017 Dora Mavor Moore Awards, four Helen Hayes Awards, five Outer Critics Circle Awards and three Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical. David and Irene were also the recipients of the 2017 Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for Best Book. Their first show, My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding played and won best musical awards across North America, with Sankoff and Hein performing in most productions. They are currently working on projects with Disney, Warner Bros. and Netflix.
