Hadestown is Anaïs Mitchell's modern mythology adaptation of Orpheus and Eurydice's love story. After penning the original scores and scripts in 2010, she turned to decorated stage director Rachel Chavkin for assistance in 2012. Together, the twosome perfected the play for public, off-Broadway showings that began in 2016. Hadestown would progress from its humble beginnings to a coveted place on Broadway and other much-loved stages in London and Canada, making it a global success.
