It is my life’s passion to stir the hearts of my audience with mesmerizing guitar music. My wide range of styles evokes my Jazz, Latin, Classical and Folk roots. “I can’t speak enough praise about David and his performance. He has a special knack for drawing the emotion out of a piece to make you really feel something, and he’s right there feeling it with you. ” So far, I have been fortunate to perform for audiences throughout the U.S. and Europe, and have studied under legendary guitar masters at the Royal College of Music, and San Francisco Conservatory. “In May of 2024, I and many others were rewarded with the opportunity to see and hear David perform a solo concert at the San Francisco Conservatory. I was fortunate to find a seat in the front row. He came out, beaming at the audience, composed himself and then began to play. I was mesmerized.” I didn’t grow up in a musical family. Raised by a single mom who worked tirelessly to provide for us, I learned early that resilience and authenticity are non-negotiable. When my sister gave me her old guitar at 14, it became more than an instrument. It was my voice. But finding that voice wasn’t easy. Teachers told me my style was ‘unconventional.’ Mentors urged me to conform. Yet every time I was pushed to fit a mold, I pushed back harder. I wasn’t rebellious...I was certain. Certain that music, for me, wasn’t about rules; it was about raw, unfiltered truth. That conviction carried me farther than I ever imagined. From tender ballads to raucous political anthems, the performance moves between the personal and the political and sometimes both at the same time. The rich resonance of Andrea's voice carries the message of her original lyrics on a versatile instrumental foundation provided by Deborah Hungerford on piano and keyboards, Mike Derrick on guitar, and Alexis Tsamoudakis on bass. The genre defying tunes range from blues, folk, rock and even jazz at times. While Andrea's influences include singer-songwriters (Patti Griffin, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor,etc) she also loves to dance and the R&B, Motown sound is also woven into the mix. Formerly of the Berkeley based, nationally-known feminist folk trio "Rebecca Riots", Andrea has released several albums.
