Oakland-born vocalist and songwriter PHER brings a commanding live presence that moves from intimate storytelling and heartfelt ballads to explosive improvisation and full-band fire. His music blends contemporary R&B, jazz, soul, funk, and gospel into something deeply personal, emotionally direct, and built to connect in the room. Formerly known as Chris Turner, PHER has recorded and performed with artists including Jon Batiste, Esperanza Spalding, Snarky Puppy, Prince, Stevie Wonder, The Roots, Robert Glasper, Jill Scott, Common, Bilal, and the SFJAZZ Collective.
