Freddie Bryant’s Kaleidoscope West Trio draws from a vivid range of influences: straight-ahead jazz, blues, New Orleans grooves, Brazilian and Latin rhythms, and world music traditions. The program features music from Freddie’s recent album Solo Bossa , his acclaimed song cycle Upper West Side Love Story , and Live Grooves...Epic Tales . Freddie is joined by an exceptional rhythm section with Sylvia Cuenca on drums and Doug Miller on bass. A Yale School of Music graduate with a master’s degree in classical guitar, Freddie Bryant is active in the New York jazz and Brazilian music scenes. He has worked with artists including Eliane Elias, Tom Harrell, Ben Riley’s Monk Legacy Septet, and the Mingus Orchestra, where he has performed for two decades.
