“No harpist thus far has been more capable of combining all of the modern harp traditions — from Salzedo, through Dorothy Ashby, through Alice Coltrane — with such strength, grace and commitment.” – The New York Times BRANDEE YOUNGER is revolutionizing the harps’ role in modern music. Over the past fifteen years, she has worked relentlessly to stretch boundaries and limitations for harpists. In 2022, she made history by becoming the first Black woman to be nominated for a Grammy® Award for Best Instrumental Composition. That same year, she was also nominated for an NAACP Image Award and later, the winner of the 2024 NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding Jazz Album for her latest album Brand New Life. Ever-expanding as an artist, she has worked with cultural icons including Common, Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Pharoah Sanders and Christian McBride.

**RESCHEDULED FROM 4/29, ALL PREVIOUS TICKET PURCHASES WILL BE HONORED** Moonchild is the genre-defying trio that has quietly but powerfully carved their own worldwide lane in the world of alternative R&B and neo-soul. Comprised of multi-instrumentalists Amber Navran, Max Bryk, and Andris Mattson, the Los Angeles-based band blends velvety vocals, intricate horn arrangements, jazz-rooted harmony, and forward-thinking production into a signature sound that’s as intimate as it is expansive. At the core of Moonchild’s creative magic is their uniquely fluid, ego-free collaboration. All three are songwriters, producers, and instrumentalists, and songs often pass between them digitally until the right arrangement emerges. “Our process is about serving the song,” says Max. “We trust each other so much creatively.” That trust has empowered the band to evolve with every release, taking more risks in songwriting, production, and lyrical vulnerability. Now, with their upcoming album Waves, Moonchild enters a bold new chapter. A deeply personal and emotionally raw project, Waves explores themes of grief, healing, resilience, and self-worth, eschewing the love songs that once dominated their catalog. “This album is about processing loss and stepping into your power,” says Amber. “It’s a lyrical departure, but it reflects what I’ve been going through these past few years.”

My Days of 58 is the eighth Bill Callahan album, his first since 2022. The twelve tunes here open uncanny depths of expression as Bill continues to blaze one of the most original songwriting-and-performance trails out there. With My Days of 58, he applies the living, breathing energies of his live shows to the studio process, sharpening his slice-of-life portraiture to cut deeper than ever before. The core musicians featured on My Days of 58 is the group that toured for 2022’s REALITY: guitarist Matt Kinsey, saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi and drummer Jim White, whose synergy was evident in 2024’s live Resuscitate!. This showed Bill, as he puts it, “that they could handle anything I threw at them,” adding: “Improv/unpredictability/the unknown is the thing that keeps me motivated to keep making music. It’s all about listening to yourself and others. A lot of the best parts of a recording are the mistakes—making them into strengths, using them as springboards into something human.”

“Style informed by tradition but not encumbered by it” — Philadelphia City Paper “Powerful music. It resisted premade frames and made its own.” — The New York Times “A worthy heir to his father, jazz legend John Coltrane” — The Telegraph “Embracing jazz’s past only as a means to communicate his own modern-day voice.” — Okayplayer Just days before John Coltrane would have turned 100 his oldest surviving son, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, presents a blazing young band to mark the milestone. While Ravi spent the first quarter century of his career focusing on acquiring a diverse array of experience as a sideman and then honing his own lustrous, harmonically ambiguous compositions, he’s taken up the family mantle in recent years. With a variety of ensembles, projects and initiatives on and off the bandstand, he’s championed the legacy of his parents (including with his 2025 stint as an SFJAZZ Resident Artistic Director). For this celebration he performs with trumpeter Jonathan Finlayson, a longtime collaborator who graduated from Berkeley High and spent years touring and recording with alto sax great and MBASE conceptualist Steve Coleman. A teenage prodigy, Israeli pianist/keyboardist Gadi Lehavi made his Village Vanguard debut with Ravi at 15. Now 30, he’s more than lived up to his enormous potential, playing with consummate technique and capacious imagination. Powering the quartet is Bay Area-reared drum sensation Elé Howell, 28, a supremely musical accompanist who gained national attention when Coltrane started hiring him in 2021 for various projects, including Cosmic Music: Revisiting the Music of John and Alice Coltrane. Though John Coltrane ascended in 1967 at the age of 40, his presence continues to illuminate new directors for exploration.

The midwest, particularly the part of the midwest Eric D. Johnson hails from, is a largely flat expanse. Zipping through it on the highway, you’ll see cities and towns rise up in the distance, but blink and you’ll miss other man-made rejoinders to horizontal living dotting the landscape, hill after hill, built from the refuse of the past: landfills. Some of these hills make for great sledding spots, parks, and trails. Others turn organic waste into compost. The Landfill, Fruit Bats’ June 12, 2026 album from Merge Records, is something else entirely: a mountain dominating the landscape of Johnson’s heart.

For over 15 years, The Green has been a cornerstone of the reggae music scene, seamlessly blending island roots with global appeal. Based in Hawaii, the band has become one of the most beloved and influential acts to emerge from the islands, pioneering U.S. mainland tours and sharing stages with reggae legends like Rebelution, Iration, SOJA, and Jamaica’s own Damian Marley. Their widespread acclaim caught the attention of Grammy-winning superstar Bruno Mars, who invited them to open for his sold-out shows at Honolulu’s Blaisdell Arena in 2014 and Hawaii’s iconic Aloha Stadium in 2018. With themes of family, resilience, and unity woven into their music, The Green has cultivated a devoted global fanbase. Classics like "All I Need," "Love I," and "Wake Up" continue to resonate with long-time listeners, while collaborations with artists such as J Boog on tracks like "Feelings," "Never Give Up," and "Fire up Di Roses" draw in new audiences. Their recent single,Day by Day, featuring fellow Hawaii artist Kolohe Kai, celebrates the Aloha spirit and furthers their mission of spreading positivity.

Son Lux strives to question assumptions about how music is made and construct their own from a molecular level, cultivating a musical language rooted in curiosity and balancing opposites. Over two decades, the band has released numerous recordings marked by raw emotional intimacy and meticulous electronic constructions, and performed at major venues and festivals globally. Son Lux scored A24’s Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All at Once, for which they were nominated for two Academy Awards and a BAFTA, as well as Marvel Studios Thunderbolts* (2025) and upcoming Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother (2026). This fall, Son Lux will release Out Into, their ninth studio album, and embark on a world tour.

Jahnavi Harrison is a musician, writer, artist, and practitioner of bhakti-yoga. more
From his beginnings in Hendersonville, North Carolina (population 15k), to opening for The Kid LAROI on The First Time tour last year, glaive has become a name synonymous with a scene that redefines pop, not by distancing itself from tradition but by forging a new, innovative style. His previous works, including cypress grove, all dogs go to heaven, and then i’ll be happy, have all cemented him as a standout artist, lauded by the likes of The New York Times, Vulture, GQ and The FADER. His 2nd studio album released in late 2024, May It Never Falter, was hailed as a genre-defying body of work that marked the beginning of an independent chapter in his artistry. Working closely with a tight-knit team of collaborators including John Cunningham (XXXTENTACION, Kanye West), Ralph Castelli (Dora Jar, The Neighbourhood), and Jeff Hazin (Kali Uchis, renforshort) the album served as a coming-of-age narrative set against the backdrop of adolescence and self-discovery. May It Never Falter was recorded in the remote landscapes of Iceland and Wales, continuing the Sigur Rós-inspired approach to isolated, immersive recording environments that began with his debut album i care so much i don’t care at all (2023). The album was listed as one of the best of 2024 by Vogue Magazine and was supported by a North American and European tour in spring of 2025.

For Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, music is a living flame—one demanding relentless tending, fresh kindling, and the collective breath of community to sustain it. On their eighth studio album, Feed The Fire (No Coincidence Records), the Baltimore quartet—“Scrambled Greg” Ormont [vocals, guitar], Jeremy Schon [guitar, vocals], Ben Carrey [bass, vocals], and Alex "Gator" Petropulos [drums, vocals]—push their psychedelic funk odyssey into its most expansive incarnation yet. Across sixteen years, eight albums, and countless sweat-soaked performances, Pigeons have mastered transformation, deepening their connection with their devoted fanbase and channeling life's seismic shifts into fuel for their unquenchable fire. "The ‘fire’ represents our passion," explains Ormont. "Making music feels like something we were born to do... Feed The Fire is the perfect metaphor for our unwavering commitment to keep evolving." Significant milestones, from headlining major stages to their fan-centric Domefest, underscore their remarkable journey.

The title track of the band’s new album, Myself in the Way, speaks to this mindset. “I can’t put myself in the way of love again,” sings Getz, “I promise I’m going to go all the way with you,” is specifically about Getz getting engaged to his longtime partner, but applies to the general outlook he had toward life in lockdown. “I was living in Sebastopol, California at the time and felt like I truly lived there for the first time since I wasn’t leaving for tour. I was able to go meditate at the Zen Buddhist dojo down the road, run and bike around the hills in Sonoma county, learn about plants and gardening, take some Spanish and arboriculture classes, and get involved with the volunteer fire department. Just do a bunch of new things to challenge and inspire me in a natural way.”

more
The Wooten brothers’ first public performance occurred in Hawaii in 1966 and established their identity as prodigies. Since then, Victor Wooten & the Wooten Brothers (brothers Regi, Roy & Jospeh) have racked up 10 Grammy wins, and 26, yes, 26 Grammy nominations. And the youngest of the family, Victor, the brother who learned from all his older brothers, has been named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the ten greatest bass players of all time. As a family band, they are second to none. The Brothers' music bends and defines genres; amplifies centuries, and spans continents. The Wooten Brothers began in R&B before evolving as teens into Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Classical and Country. Then, they emerged in 1985 on Arista records with an album called, "The Wootens", that combined Electronic, Funk, Soul, Disco, and Boogie—and offered only a sliver of the Wooten whole. The Wooten whole is all of that…and classical, and jazz, and country, and Rock-and-Roll. Connecting a musically deep past to musical future, the Wooten Brothers explode genres and build bridges across genres. Bar by bar, in live performances and on recordings, they provide an exhilarating ‘connects-you-to-the-center-of-the-universe’ sound.
