Josh Kornbluth’s What Is To Be Done? Fighting Fascism and Depression The Marsh San Francisco Mainstage “Josh Kornbluth is a genius: his latest show displays the full breadth of his keen insights and biting wit.” – Theatrius June 19 – July 31, 2026 Fridays at 7:30 pm No Show June 26 & July 3 Special Matinee Saturday June 27 at 5:00 pm Written & Performed by Josh Kornbluth Developed in Collaboration with Jon Tracy Ticket Information Tickets: $15 – $35 General Seating | $50 & $100 Reserved Seating 90 minutes | No intermission (Please do not bring infants to the show) Online ticket sales close 2 hours before each performance. What’s currently on, and in, his mind are the related subjects of fascism and depression. For over seven months last year, he was mired in a deep depression. At the same time, our country had begun rapidly descending into fascism. So Josh found himself in a Resistance on at least two levels: against MAGA’s depredations, and against attacks from within his own psyche. And the struggle continues! Can he help save our democracy even as he tries to pull himself together? Will he have to perform these improvs from a psychiatrist’s couch? What Is To Be Done? is a work in (and of) progress. Artist Biography Josh Kornbluth (Playwright & Performer) has been creating and performing autobiographical monologues for over three decades. He also has written and starred in two feature films, directed by his brother Jacob Kornbluth: Haiku Tunnel and Love & Taxes . For two years he hosted his own interview program on KQED-TV in San Francisco, cleverly titled The Josh Kornbluth Show . His “Citizen Brain” videos ( citizenbrain.org ) have been viewed by over half a million people. Josh is starring in an upcoming feature film called Morons . He has a Substack called “But Not

Creating and Performing Your Own Work with David Ford About Classes Class Performances Enrollment Class FAQs Tuition: $650.00 Full tuition is due at the time of registration for all classes About David Ford David Ford has been collaborating on new and unusual theater for three decades and has been an artist-in-residence at The Marsh for most of that time. The San Francisco press has variously called him the solo performer maven , the monologue maestro, the dean of solo performance, and the solo performer’s best friend and a week rarely goes by when residents of the Bay Area can not enjoy one of his productions. Collaborators include Geoff Hoyle, Brian Copeland, Charlie Varon, Echo Brown, Marilyn Pittman, Rebecca Fisher, Wayne Harris, Jill Vice, and Marga Gomez. Ford’s work has been seen regionally at The Public Theater, Second Stage Theater, Theatre at St. Clement’s, Dixon Place, Theatre for the New City (New York), Highways Performance Space (Los Angeles), and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co. (Washington, D.C.). His work has also been featured in most of the fringe festivals in North America, and at theaters around the Bay Area including Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Magic Theatre, and Marin Theatre Company. Ford’s directing has garnered several “Best of Fringe” Awards and a Goldie Award. Program Director: Alexa Almira House Manager: Arnie Warshaw Light/Soundboard Operator: Alexa Almira About Monday Night Marsh Stephanie Weisman, our theater’s founder and artistic director, started The Marsh because she wanted a place for writers and performers like herself to easily develop their work. IN 1989, she planted a see by starting a Monday night performance series at The Hotel Utah on Bryant Street. Monday Night Marsh is the seed that sprouted into what is now The Marsh Theater: A Breeding Ground for New Performance. The program prides itself in sharing personal stories and unique experiences of all types, with a goal of amplifying the voices of our community. It is crucial, now more than ever, to share your story. Local celebrities like Josh Kornbluth, Marga Gomez, Irma Herrera, Diane Barnes, and so many others got their start on Monday Night Marsh. Every Monday (unless it’s a holiday), we feature 3 people who perform up to 20 minutes of their (work-in-progress) piece. Each group performs twice in a month. After each show, we do a Q&A with the audience and performers, which allows for the opportunity to give and receive any feedback. You can watch in person, or stream via zoom for free. Follow us on Instagram! @mondaynightmarsh You truly never know what you’re going to see at a MNM. Join us. Wonderful things can happen. Mondays at 7pm Two Ways to Watch!
