Artist Info It’s been nearly a decade since Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ teamed up for their collaborative debut, TajMo , and though the album was a runaway success—it won a GRAMMY Award, garnered rave reviews, and spawned a massive joint tour of the US and Europe—neither artist ever expected to record a follow-up. “That first album turned out so great that part of me wondered if maybe we just got lucky,” Keb’ says with a laugh. “I always figured it was a one-time thing. But when we got back into the studio together, I felt that same magic again, and I realized it wasn’t luck at all.” Recorded in Nashville with Keb’ and Taj co-producing, Room On The Porch finds the pair in peak form, playing to each other’s strengths and opening up new creative horizons more than a half-century into their storied careers. The songs are warm and inviting here, rooted in the joy of human connection and the power of positivity, and the performances are as timeless as they are adventurous, incorporating the full spectrum of American roots music from blues and jazz to folk and country. Keb’ and Taj invited an all-star group of players, singers, and co-writers (including their sons) to join them in the studio for the sessions, but the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the legendary pair throughout the colle

Steward was raised on the Sulphur Bank Rancheria and came up in Santa Rosa, where he and his father Richard built Twice As Good into a working blues band over two decades of North Bay rooms. The Press Democrat covers him as both a blues guitarist and a Pomo scholar, and World Champion is where the two meet. Stripped to one guitar tonight, those songs sit closer than they ever do with a band behind them.

David Rosewood Fri, Sep 04 | Sailing Goat at Point San Pablo Harbor fingerstyle guitarist with a wide range of styles including Jazz, Latin, Classical and Folk Time & Location Sep 04, 2026, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sailing Goat at Point San Pablo Harbor, 1900 Stenmark Dr, Richmond, CA 94801, USA About the event Hi there, I’m David Rosewood, international fingerstyle guitarist. It is my life’s passion to stir the hearts of my audience with mesmerizing guitar music. My wide range of styles evokes my Jazz, Latin, Classical and Folk roots. “I can’t speak enough praise about David and his performance. He has a special knack for drawing the emotion out of a piece to make you really feel something, and he’s right there feeling it with you. ” So far, I have been fortunate to perform for audiences throughout the U.S. and Europe, and have studied under legendary guitar masters at the Royal College of Music, and San Francisco Conservatory. “In May of 2024, I and many others were rewarded with the opportunity to see and hear David perform a solo concert at the San Francisco Conservatory. I was fortunate to find a seat in the front row. He came out, beaming at the audience, composed himself and then began to play. I was mesmerized.” I didn’t grow up in a musical family. Raised by a single mom who worked tirelessly to provide for us, I learned early that resilience and authenticity are non-negotiable. When my sister gave me her old guitar at 14, it became more than an instrument. It was my voice. But finding that voice wasn’t easy. Teachers told me my style was ‘unconventional.’ Mentors urged me to conform. Yet every time I was pushed to fit a mold, I pushed back harder. I wasn’t rebellious...I was certain. Certain that music, for me, wasn’t about rules; it was about raw, unfiltered truth. That conviction carried me farther than I ever imagined. From small rooms to global stages, my art has taken me places I once only dreamed of! Not because I followed the path laid out for me, but beca

Join Grammy-winning musician Dom Flemons and his wife/creative collaborator Vania Kinard for a virtual exploration of Mexican and Chicano musical heritage. This session centers on the legendary "Father of Chicano Music," Lalo Guerrero , and the deep cultural music that defines the American Southwest. The event features an intimate conversation between Dom and Vania, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their archival research, their music collection, Dom’s Mexican-American ancestry, and his family’s music legacy that extends as far back as the late 1800s. Together, they will explore the significance of preserving these sounds and the stories they tell about Mexicans and Chicano identity. Dom reflects deeply on his personal connection to this history, tracing his Mexican-American roots back to his family’s longstanding presence in Phoenix. As a 6th generation Black Mexican from the Southwest, Dom has connected his family memories and his grandmother’s stories to Lalo Guerrero’s broader legacy. This discussion illustrates how Chicano music is a foundational pillar of the American songbook rather than a mere subgenre. From the rhythmic pulse of the mid-century era to the modern resonance of heritage, this event offers a profound look at the music that shaped the southwestern region

Honey Disposition Sat, Sep 05 | Sailing Goat at Point San Pablo Harbor Original folk, jazz, rock, and pop Time & Location Sep 05, 2026, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sailing Goat at Point San Pablo Harbor, 1900 Stenmark Dr, Richmond, CA 94801, USA About the event Honey Disposition, the passion project of singer/songwriters Elizabeth Boaz and Alex Michels, is a San Francisco based band rooted in the profound connection of friendship and a shared passion for music. Despite their contrasting musical upbringings, with Alex immersing himself in classical trumpet and rock & roll guitar and Elizabeth exploring the realms of musical theater from an early age, the two artists discovered common ground in their shared dedication to original songwriting. Their paths crossed in 2018, and it became evident that their collaboration held the potential for something remarkable. In the years that followed, Honey Disposition evolved into an iconic duo — with a rotating assortment of fun musical guests! — committed to making a meaningful impact on both local and global communities through their music. Elizabeth's perceptive lyrics and distinctive vocal arrangements seamlessly blend with Alex's catchy melodies and soulful trumpet playing, creating a signature sound that resonates with authenticity. Pulling from genres such as folk, jazz, rock, and pop, their original music and cover song selections appeal to a wide range of listeners. This dynamic duo extends their influence beyond the stage, recording their original music in their home studio, leading educational music camps and masterclasses, and touring frequently all around the United States. Their commitment to spreading joy and empowerment is evident in every note they compose and every stage they grace. As Honey Disposition continues to shape the musical landscape, Elizabeth Boaz and Alex Michels stand as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration, proving that the convergence of diverse backgrounds can give rise to a harmoniou

Featuring many beloved Bay Area Americana performers, including Jill Rogers & Myles Boisen from Crying Time, Loralee Christensen & Paul Olguin from the Loralee Combo, Candy Girard , David Phillips , Gary Vogensen , Kevin Russell and Tim Gahagan from The Familiar Strangers. Ingram Cecil Connor III (November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973), known professionally as Gram Parsons, was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist. He recorded as a solo artist and with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds, and the Flying Burrito Brothers, popularizing what he called "Cosmic American Music", a hybrid of country, rhythm and blues, soul, folk, and rock. The Trolley Drops play hokum blues and novelty tunes from the 20s and 30s. Vocally rich, carefree, and infectiously fun, this good time dance music, often known as Jug Band Music, blends the call and response of gospel with the drive of the delta blues and the ruckus sounds of New Orleans Jazz. The line up currently includes bass, banjo, guitar, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone with kazoo, washboard and jug players occasionally sitting in...our motto is: The more the merrier… Jug till you Drop…..

NASHVILLE HONEYMOON FEATURING JOE GOLDMARK
Nashville Honeymoon was born in Berkeley and nurtured in live music venues on both sides of the Bay, Nashville Honeymoon is a honkytonk band that plays their own special brand of California country. Hank and Lynne started performing together almost accidentally - a happy accident, as it turns out, because it sparked a musical collaboration that has produced three albums and brought them to venues ranging from the iconic Ivy Room to San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall.
Joe Goldmark, the pedal steel visionary, will be featured each month so that 1st Sunday vibe he has created at the Riptide keeps rolling along.

worldclassmusic.live and The Freight proudly present Ballake Sissoko and Piers Faccini www.ballakesissoko.com Thursday 9/10 Saturday 9/12 doors 7pm / showtime 8pm The new album is available on CD and vinyl at ticket check-out! 'gentle, captivating work.... poetic songs soaked in nature imagery and beautifully married to Sissoko’s intricate, dazzling playing' - The Guardian Two decades after their first ever collaboration, British-Italian folk songwriter, Piers Faccini, and Malian kora virtuoso, Ballaké Sissoko, return with a mesmerizing album. This new and captivating musical dialogue — between a prodigious instrumentalist at the height of his powers and a gifted songwriter and wordsmith — deftly bridges continents and traditions, inventing new song forms. The seeds of Our Calling were first planted when Sissoko and Faccini met at Label Bleu in the early 2000s. Their friendship grew as they linked and explored uncharted paths between Manding traditions and folksong forms. With its ten finely crafted tracks, Our Calling is a sonic and narrative praise song for migration in all its manifestations: seeds borne by the winds; Nightingales flying between West Africa and Europe at the turn of the seasons; humans, across the centuries, and along trade routes, sharing musical practices and rhythms. The album’s originality is that it feels deeply Malian at its core, while also being seamlessly infused with an essence of folk songwriting; the two elements blending without one ever overshadowing the other. The duo’s ambition when they began imagining the album was clear: the musical language begins and ends with Manding traditions and modes. The songs had that creative brief. Their melodies, although sung in English, are constructed and stepped along Manding lines. The originality of Sissoko and Faccini’s dialogue is best exemplified with the song “If Nothing is Real” — a song that succeeds in finding a home away from home, both on the African and European continents. It is a t

Salar Nader (tabla) presents The Afghan Music Project, with Quraishi (rubab) - Live in Berkeley on 11 September !! doors 7pm / showtime 8pm https://www.salarnader.org/about Afghan tabla virtuoso Salar Nader curates a program of the rich and varied legacy of classical compositions and folk melodies of this ancient Central Asian nation. At the heart of this musical odyssey lies the enchanting sounds of the rûbab, Afghanistan's revered 21-stringed lute, renowned for its hauntingly soulful timbre. Accompanied by the tabla's rhythmic pulse, Salar's innovative fusion of Afghan and Indian percussion draws out the musical parallels with Hindustani music, exploring the essence of Ragas and the profound connection between two diverse yet harmonious traditions. Salar Nader, disciple of the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain, has toured extensively with NEA Jazz Master Stanley Clarke, appeared on Broadway with “The Kite Runner,” and took part in a series of recordings of the music of Afghanistan and Central Asia sponsored by Aga Khan Music Initiative for the Smithsonian Folkways label. Quraishi Roya is a legendary master and composer of the Rubab, Afghanistan's national instrument. A self-taught musician originally from Kabul, he is widely celebrated for keeping the rich tradition of classical Afghan court music and regional folk styles alive. In a time when music has been banned in Afghanistan, the music of these master musicians serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and importance of preserving cultural heritage. &list=RDUgLR6ZsaeiI&start_radio=1

worldclassmusic.live and The Freight proudly present Ballake Sissoko and Piers Faccini www.ballakesissoko.com Thursday 9/10 Saturday 9/12 doors 7pm / showtime 8pm The new album is available on CD and vinyl at ticket check-out! It is a t

Andrea Prichett & Friends Sun, Sep 13 | Sailing Goat at Point San Pablo Harbor Folk/Folk Rock/Singer-songwriter Time & Location Sep 13, 2026, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sailing Goat at Point San Pablo Harbor, 1900 Stenmark Dr, Richmond, CA 94801, USA About the event In an evening with Andrea Prichett and Friends, you can expect to be taken on something of a journey. From tender ballads to raucous political anthems, the performance moves between the personal and the political and sometimes both at the same time. The rich resonance of Andrea's voice carries the message of her original lyrics on a versatile instrumental foundation provided by Deborah Hungerford on piano and keyboards, Mike Derrick on guitar, and Alexis Tsamoudakis on bass. The genre defying tunes range from blues, folk, rock and even jazz at times. While Andrea's influences include singer-songwriters (Patti Griffin, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, etc) she also loves to dance and the R&B, Motown sound is also woven into the mix. Formerly of the Berkeley based, nationally-known feminist folk trio "Rebecca Riots", Andrea has released several albums. In recent times, Andrea released a solo album "The Frame" and continues to write and sing about the issues of the day. A natural storyteller and political activist, Andrea combines anecdotes with her carefully crafted songs to inspire and uplift her audiences. Her fans describe the experience of going to her shows as part political, part spiritual, part humorous and TOTALLY engaging! www.andreaprichett.com Show More Share this event

Close Details Wednesday, September 16, 2026 8:00PM Old Blind Dogs 2026 Old Blind Dogs The musical evolution of Old Blind Dogs began in Aberdeen in 1992 with roots that grew from the eclectic music scene that flourished in the Granite City during the early 90’s. Four musicians from very different musical backgrounds came together to create a full-time professional touring band with the aim of showcasing the rich tradition of songs and tunes of Scotland on an international stage. Like many of the early flag bearing Scottish folk bands the Old Blind Dogs line up has faced inevitable changes over the years but the core values at the band’s musical heart continue to beat strong. The current line up consists of original member Jonny Hardie (fiddle/vocals), Aaron Jones (cittern/guitar/ vocals), Donald Hay (percussion/vocals) and now joined by the brilliant piper/whistle player Mike Katz (formerly of The Battlefield Band). They comprise one of the hottest live tickets on the traditional Scottish music scene today touring all over the USA, Europe and at home. Inducted in to the BBC ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards ‘Trad Music Hall of Fame’ ‘The Dogs’ have celebrated over thirty years on the road. Their fourteenth studio album ‘ Knucklehead Circus ’ is a joyous, uplifting and fun record full of compelling energy and intoxicating rhythm on which ‘OBD’ continue to innovate within their tradition while faithfully revealing its essence. The band are currently working on a new record to be released in early 2027. Here’s to many more years of Old Blind Dogs! “ With an affectionate yet playful attitude to tradition Knucklehead Circus is a joyous, glorious, and thoroughly Scottish precursor to the Old Blind Dogs’ 30th anniversary. ” (Songlines) Website | Facebook | Instagram Read More Hide View Full Calendar Please Note: Donor discount appli

Close Enter Promo Code T Sisters, Saturday, September 19, 2026 8:00PM Event Summary Saturday, September 19, 2026 8:00PM T Sisters 2026 T Sisters Additional Details The T Sisters are a genuine sister group based in the creative hub of Oakland, California. The group is made up of Rachel and Chloe Tietjen , twins, and their older sister Erika . Distinguished by close harmonies, catchy melodies and potent lyricism, the T Sisters’ sound represents a continuum of music: from roots to pop influences, moments of stunning a cappella to swells of groovy indie folk. The sisters' contemporary yet classic sound invites a range of likenesses, from the Pointer Sisters and the Everly Brothers to modern family bands like the Avett Brothers and First Aid Kit. With their soaring sibling harmonies, sassy stage presence, and inventive songwriting, these three sisters embody a fresh and soulful take on folk/Americana music. Music and performance have provided a consistent backdrop for the sisters, having grown up with their musician father and dancer mother. The sisters began singing together as early as they could speak, and not long after they began to experiment with harmonies, gradually developing their ability to blend their voices as only sisters can. In 2008, after having been separated for a number of years, the sisters returned to the Bay Area to produce and perform in an original musical. They then co-founded Chthonic Theater, a performing arts collective through which they create and perform in original musical theater productions, lead local parades, and curate and host variety shows featuring local and touring artists. After the initial performance experiment of the musical, the sisters began to write songs together and develop their singing and harmonizing outsid

Shawn Mullins GENRE: Folk, Rock Spotify | Apple Music | Youtube | Website After a series of indie releases and growing buzz in the Atlanta music scene, Shawn Mullins ’ rocketed to international critical and commercial success with the release of 1998 Soul’s Core featuring his Grammy-nominated No. 1 hit, “Lullaby” followed by AAA/Americana No. 1 hit “Beautiful Wreck” from 2006’s 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor . His song, “Shimmer” was used in promotion of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and was included on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack. His co-write “All in My Head” from 2008’s Honeydew was featured in episode one of the hit TV sitcom “Scrubs.” Mullins also co-wrote the Zac Brown Band’s No. 1 country tune “Toes.” In early 2002, he formed supergroup The Thorns with Matthew Sweet and Pete Droge. “No Blue Sky” from the resulting album, is a modern day classic. For the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough album, Shawn revisited the music of Soul’s Core by recording two new versions of the album. He calls this Soul’s Core Revival . This is not a remix or a remaster of the original, but rather brand new recordings with new arrangements of the songs – one album is stripped down solo performances, some on guitar, some on piano and maybe one a cappella, and the second is a new studio recording with his full band, Soul Carnival.

Artist Info The iconic multi-platinum-selling group AMERICA will celebrate their 54th anniversary with a series of tour dates on the “Ride On Tour 2024.” Known for their timeless magic and powerful performances, the Grammy Award-winning perennial classic-rock favorite will draw on their deep catalog of hits including signature song “A Horse With No Name,” a Number One hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1972. On their way to becoming a global household name, AMERICA’s journey found them exploring a wide variety of musical terrain. Their best-known tunes, which also include “I Need You,” “Ventura Highway,” “Don't Cross The River,” “Tin Man,” “Lonely People,” and “Sister Golden Hair” were cornerstones of 1970’s Top 40 and FM rock radio. Yet beyond their impressive catalog of hits, listeners would discover there was always much more to AMERICA than surface perceptions. The combination of melodic pop-rock and folk-jazz elements, slinky Latin-leaning rhythms and impressionistic lyric imagery contrasted well with other more traditional country-rock leanings and highly personal lyrics. AMERICA’s albums--six certified gold and/or platinum, with their first greatest hits collection, History, hitting four plus million in sales--displayed a fuller range of the trio's talents than did their singles. Their material encompassed

The band, whose sound has been described as “...a stagecoach in overdrive” and “dark, psychedelic speedfolk”, has performed their signature blend of strings and horns across 49 states and 9 countries since 2007. CNS has built a solid grassroots following with their energetic live show and ability to fit on bills ranging from bluegrass to punk; rockabilly to ska. Thoughtful songwriting is delivered through dynamic arrangements and unconventional instrumentation. Throaty vocals glide over percussive guitar. Mandolin solos melt into blaring trombone lines at breakneck speed, while the upright bass and rock-solid drums churn out aggressive rhythms that carry the force of a Kansas freight train. Psychedelic soundscapes are punctuated by downright amphetaminic tempos and controlled cacophony. Anything but derivitive, CNS has developed a singular style that continues to bemuse newcomers and delight loyal fans. Sam Burton’s last album, Dear Departed , arose from a time of rebirth. In the last few years, Burton basically started over. There’s a freedom in leaving everything behind, and Burton embarked on a wandering phase. Along the way, he was writing songs. Following his 2020 debut I Can Go With You , Dear Departed was something of a reintroduction after a period of transition and transformation. He joined up with producer Jonathan Wilson to craft a more intricate, layered sound that recalled the lived-in yet immediate singer-songwriter albums of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Wilson helped Burton achieve a sound that didn’t descend into retro pastiche, but rather became an evocative echo, a dream of the past. From the production to the performances to Burton’s core compositions, there’s a timelessness across Burton’s catalog, exploring themes of love, loss, and personal transformation.

Jernigan has been writing, performing, and releasing music on the gulf coast for over a decade. Basch toured and recorded as the frontman for New Orleans rock and soul band Roadside Glorious from 2016 to 2020 and released his debut singles - recorded at Marigny Studios in New Orleans - in 2025.
Max Sanders is a New Orleans-Raised singer-songwriter and guitarist who has made a mark on the music scene through extensive national touring, both as a solo artist and in support of notable acts like Maggie Koerner, Hollyrock, and Lynn Drury. He has also opened for artists such as Duane Betts, Melvin Seals(Jerry Garcia Band) and George Porter Jr.(The Meters). As a songwriter, Max brings together rugged western influence with the laid-back traditions of New Orleans’ culture. The midwest, particularly the part of the midwest Eric D. Johnson hails from, is a largely flat expanse. Zipping through it on the highway, you’ll see cities and towns rise up in the distance, but blink and you’ll miss other man-made rejoinders to horizontal living dotting the landscape, hill after hill, built from the refuse of the past: landfills. Some of these hills make for great sledding spots, parks, and trails. Others turn organic waste into compost. A poet with a guitar and smokin’ hot band!! Maurice Tani is a songslinger working his own lane. Known for his wry-to-romantic writing, agile guitar work and expressive singing, Tani's style is a broad spectrum tincture of influences from jazz, blues, classic country and the Great American Songbook. This is storytelling. A sort of cinema for the blind, shot alternately in grainy black and white noir or vivid technicolor with a wide angle lens.
The lyrics are sheer poetry:
I used to wonder who I am
I don’t wonder anymore
The mirror shows a face
That I’ve never seen before
I’ve hidden all my scars
Burned away my fingerprints
Playing in the flames
Destroying evidence
The band covers a lot of ground, from wistful ballads to hard driving honky-tonk rock, from personal meditations to satirical cultural observations, from electrified twang to down-home acoustic. Once in a while, they even find new shades of meaning in some cover you thought had been long since played out. This band is different. This band is special.
“All in all, possibly the best indie ‘Americana’ band to come from the Bay Area . . . ever . . . period.” - Paul Olguin
The term Renaissance man could and should be applied to Maurice Tani. A certified jack of all trades in the San Francisco music scene for over forty years, Tani has extensive experience in the recording industry as singer, songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and producer. Recent alt-country/roots music releases with his band 77 El Deora, have garnered him a local following for both his records and live performances. Tani is right at home where the blues relaxes into Americana, and can sing jazz better than most who claim they do.

What goes around comes around, and nearly 25 years since their founding in Denton, Texas, multi-Platinum country band Eli Young Band have come home. Led by an unmistakable vocal and bringing a Texas-rock edge to modern country, the never-changing lineup of Mike Eli, James Young, Jon Jones, and Chris Thompson have spent two-plus decades on the run, growing from hometown heroes into globe-trotting, chart-topping pioneers. Yet in all that time, EYB never forgot its raising, and today the foursome reclaim the spirit behind their success. Returning to their independent roots, the bold creative defiance that launched them into the mainstream – and in many ways to their old stomping grounds – it’s a new chapter driven by experience and a million miles of wisdom, from a band of brothers still very much in their prime.“We started this thing when we were like 20 years old, and it’s been such a crazy road and such a longer road than any of us could have conceptualized at the time,” says Jones. “I think right now feels a little full circle, in a really nice way.”“Now, we get to step back into our Texas shoes,” Eli agrees. “I think this new stuff finds us reaching deep into our past as a band. We’re remembering where the magic was – all those songs we wanted to record for our Level record, that felt way too edgy for Country Radio at the time.”Indeed, after becoming icons of Texas’ vibrant college-bar scene – and then packing arenas all over the state (without label support) – that Level album from 2005 landed like a live wire, injecting EYB into the mainstream. They followed in 2008 with their Gold-certified breakout “Always the Love Songs” and Jet Black & Jealous, one of three career Billboard Top 5 albums which include the Number One 10,000 Towns and Platinum Life At Best. Likewise, back-to-back Number One singles came with the 5X Platinum “Crazy Girl” in 2011 and 3X Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (2012), plus the Platinum Number One “Drunk Last Night” and 2X Platinum Number One “Love Ain’t” after that. All along they kept the intensity of their live shows front and center, and with a following which now includes more than 1.4 million Facebook followers, 2.2 million monthly Spotify listeners and more, it’s time to get back to the point. Ready to follow up 2022’s Love Talking, the band have returned to Panhandle House Studio in their hometown of Denton – the same studio where Level was born – bringing new tunes and new excitement along with them. All co-written as a band or with long-trusted collaborators, a fresh batch of songs return EYB to the raw, grassroots energy and emotional sting of their early work, geared for the stage and recorded without digital tricks. For the band, being independent again for the first time in years isn’t a challenge, it’s a reward – and they took the chance to embrace not just renewed creative freedom, but the fun of their self contained live-band philosophy.“Going back to Panhandle House where we recorded Level, it feels like we got to remind ourselves why we started making the kind of music we make,” Eli says. “When this music comes out, I think fans will know it is 100% coming from us.”“Honestly, going to Panhandle House feels like going back to your childhood house in a way,” Jones notes. “It just evokes these memories, like this slightly-younger version of ourselves comes out.”“One thing that’s really special is we’ve come full circle and remember that energy, but we’re also older and wiser,” Thompson adds. “We have years of studio, songwriting and performing experience under our belt, so we have more of a honed edge going in. That’s a really cool advantage.”The comfort level is plainly evident. Exploring new corners of their patented sound by day, and going home to their families each night, the band were free to bring every ounce of the last 25 years to bear. Tracks like the lead single “Home In Hometown” are proof, featuring all the elements that made EYB what it is – from the electric vocal delivery to the deeply textured sonics and soulful theme.A true-to-experience ballad of life on the highway, “Home In Hometown” stands as a heart-on-their-sleeve tribute to those the band loves most – and what they’ve learned from 20+ years away. While atmospheric guitars and a steady rhythmic pulse capture a sense of anticipation, another euphoric chorus helps the band unpack what “home” really means.“I was digging deep into our Texas roots,” Eli says of the modern-classic midtempo. “I wanted to write something that felt like Pat Green or Jack Ingram would cut. And when you travel like we do, a lot of times you’re thinking about coming home and being with your family – but, it’s almost like if they meet you on the road, anywhere can be home. It just feels right. I wanted to capture that.”More new tunes rolled out as their 25th anniversary arrived, with the band continuing to celebrate an EYB homecoming. The band’s newest album Strange Hours arrived on August 1, 2025 and features 13 songs – all co-written by Eli Young Band members. Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes produced 12 of the 13 tracks, while “Bad Luck” was produced by Julian Raymond and Scott Borchetta. From feel-good singalongs and heart melting wedding anthems to pure, untamable romance and clever comebacks of love, they show the same stage-rocking Texas-country hit makers fans know and love, undaunted and with new maturity baked in. We all know seasons change, but if you pay attention long enough, things have a way of coming back around.“It’s been a blessing just to be able to do this for so long, and over our career we’ve seen a lot of bands come and go,” Young says. “It feels it’s family, and we can take that with us as we go down this next part of the road.”“Our music, since it’s been the four of us making it from day one, has such a strong through line,” Jones agrees. “The way we sounded in the beginning, that’s the way we’re going to sound in the end.”“There is no A&R, there’s no label head. There’s nobody saying, ‘Maybe you should do this, maybe you should push that,’” Eli explains.“Yeah, we’ve got no one to blame,” Jones adds with a laugh. “Honestly, we just want people to know we still absolutely love making music, and this comes from a place of passion. Life is good and we’ve got stuff to say, we’ve got this thing we’ve built. I feel like we’re in a good place.”

Fruit Batsplus:: Matthew Logan VasquezFruit Bats | The Landfill | MRG887The midwest, particularly the part of the midwest Eric D. The Landfill, Fruit Bats’ June 12, 2026 album from Merge Records, is something else entirely: a mountain dominating the landscape of Johnson’s heart. This being a Fruit Bats record, one scales that mountain to take in the view, to see the future spread out as wide and endless as the midwestern plains. “But the mountain that gives us this vantage point,” Johnson says, “is made out of the trash that we’ve created, the collective weight of the past and where it’s taken us.” When he details that view on title track and lead single “The Landfill” — “a holy vision / of what could be / and couldn’t be / and could have been” — it’s thrilling to hear him sent soaring by a full complement of instruments. But what’s truly stunning is how, in his recontouring from could to couldn’t to could have been, he has lost none of the vulnerability that was brought to the foreground of his songwriting by 2025’s solo outing, Baby Man.Over the course of his now 25-year career under the moniker, most of Eric D. Johnson’s output as Fruit Bats has been the product of patience and fine-tuning. His songs, to borrow a phrase, are slow growers, given life on albums that encompass long stretches of time and memory. Baby Man changed that — he disallowed himself from referring to material he’d been working on before laying the album down, utilizing the morning pages technique of stream-of-consciousness, observational songwriting which flowed directly into his afternoon recording sessions. It was both a breathtaking document of Johnson’s skill as a singer-songwriter and an unvarnished account of the two weeks in which he recorded the album.Baby Man’s closeness to Johnson’s heart and the close attention to his voice and instrument its minimalist-maximalist ethos required uncorked something in him as he wrote towards a new full band effort. “That session was over,” he explains, “but there was way more to explore. I liked the immediacy of it, and I wanted to see how that would translate into a full-band Fruit Bats record.” Within weeks, he was back in a studio, this time with his band — David Dawda (bass), Josh Mease (guitars, synth), Frank LoCrasto (piano, synth), and Kosta Galanopoulos (drums) — with whom Johnson has spent over a decade building Fruit Bats into one of the most in-demand live acts in indie rock. Listening to The Landfill, it’s not hard to understand why: simply put, this band smokes.Producing the initial recording sessions in Washington’s Bear Creek Studios, Johnson set out to capture “the sound of this band I constantly marvel at, the feeling of being in a room with musicians you love and trust enough to let them cook.” They laid most of it down on the floor — no click tracks, no comped vocals, and minimal overdubs, with frequent collaborator Thom Monahan returning to provide additional production and The Landfill’s final mix. “It’s how we do things with my other band, Bonny Light Horseman, and I was curious to see how it would work with Fruit Bats,” Johnson notes. “It’s both a very personal record, and my most collaborative to date.”It’s also the most live a Fruit Bats record has been since 2009’s The Ruminant Band, and in paring back the number of tracks that typically layer a full-band song, the psychedelic, technicolor dreaminess of their sound is more vivid than ever. Time and space melt into the sublime as the band gels around Johnson’s hazy croon on “That Goddamn Sun,” stretching out to accommodate him as he trips from California to North Carolina. In striking a balance between ecstatic romance and melancholia, “Think Aboutcha” occupies the blissful-but-doomed intersection of the E Street Band and Paul McCartney, playful but playing for stakes that are larger than life, while “Perhaps We’re a Storm” charges headlong into the unknown. All of these songs — most of the songs on The Landfill, in fact — mark themselves immediately as some of the best in Eric D. Johnson’s ever-expanding songbook, seekers and anthems alike. It’s the most daunting peak he’s scaled yet, musically or lyrically: a swashbuckling set of full-band jammers couldn’t be more honest and open-hearted about his hopes and anxieties, his dreams and failures, what’s passed and what will come to pass, were it just him, his guitar, and the listener.

Niina Soleil Aug 21 Buy Tickets Artists Bella Kay Bella Kay has quickly emerged as one of the most emotionally resonant new stars in pop. Bella writes songs that come alive with intimacy and ache, exploring heartache, alienation, and survival with refreshing honesty and messiness. Her music is bare-faced and gutsy, delivered with a powerful, timeless voice atop a sound that blends fuzzy alternative-pop with the tender guitar hooks. On her debut album, My Reckless Abandon, the 20-year-old songwriter goes on a journey of self-acceptance and introspection amidst messy highs and lows. Across 13 tracks, she navigates her relationship to herself and others with the characteristic wit and candor established on previously released singles like “Promise?” and the smash hit “iloveitiloveitiloveit,” both included here. Executive produced by Idarose (Becky G, Suki Waterhouse, Joji) and recorded between New York and Los Angeles throughout 2026, My Reckless Abandon is a leap forward in production and shows how Bella is swiftly growing as a songwriter. Desire is a recurring theme, and Bella is often torn between body and brain. Her lust is barely contained on the opening rocker “Blur,” and she’s matter-of-fact on “swu,” beginning the song with the declaration, “I want to have sex with you.” But at the same time, she confides that intimacy can lead to terrifyingly vulnerable possibilities: “What if we do/And you decide/That you don’t want me?” Even if she has moved through life and love with moments of Reckless Abandon, Bella handles several subjects with the utmost care. “Sleep For Dinner” is a ballad that discloses patterns of restrictive eating and body dysmorphia and confronts the intrusive and obsessive mental imprisonment that can accompany

Hardly Strictly Out of the Park Kathleen Edwards GENRE: Singer-songwriter Spotify | Apple Music | Youtube | Website Acclaimed singer, songwriter and performer Kathleen Edwards returns with her highly anticipated new album, Billionaire, August 22 on Dualtone Records. Evoking her debut, Failer, the new 10-song album is full of Edwards’ trademark lyrical sharpness and unflinching observations and was produced by Jason Isbell and Gena Johnson. Celebrated as one of the forebears of modern alt-country and Americana music, Edwards is beloved by fans and fellow musicians, and praised by The New York Times for her, “droll, observant and unsparing tone that is all her own. In her best lines, Edwards has the conversational vernacular and emotional eloquence of a great short-story writer.” Since debuting in 2003, Edwards has released five albums, including 2020’s Total Freedom — her first after stepping away from music for almost a decade. Released to overwhelming acclaim with pieces at The New Yorker, The New York Times, Rolling Stone and more, Pitchfork called it, “a creative breakthrough, written solely for the thrill of discovery,” while Rolling Stone declared it as, “devastatingly great.” Most recently, Edwards released a covers EP featuring special guests Isbell, Bahamas and Daniel Tashian and including renditions of Isbell’s “Traveling Alone,” Bruce Springsteen’s “Human Touch,” The Flaming Lips’ “Feeling Yourself Disintegrate,” Tom Petty’s “Crawling Back To You” and more. She has been nominated for multiple JUNO and Americana Awards and, in 2012, was awarded the SOCAN Songwriting Prize. – Doors 7PM // Show 8PM General Admission is standing room only.

The pair returned to making their breezy pop in 2013 with Volume 3 , an album of summer pop that arrived in the spring of that year. In late 2014, the duo announced the release of a second covers album. Classics featured works by legendary musicians such as Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Costello. They followed that with another Christmas album, Christmas Party , in 2016. Still focusing on the 20th century holiday tunes, it included guest performances by The Chapin Sisters, Jenny Lewis, and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth. 2022 saw the release of the covers LP Melt Away: A Tribute to Brian Wilson , which features Wilson-penned classics like “ Wouldn’t It Be Nice ,” “ Do it Again ” and “ Darlin ,”. 2025 saw a boost in the band’s profile as Deschanel’s very first song written for Volume One , “ I Thought I Saw Your Face Today ” became a spontaneous viral hit, introducing their music to a new generation of music fans.

As they tapped into their infinite fascination with that strange duality, singer/guitarist John McCauley, guitarist/singer Ian O’Neil, drummer/singer Dennis Ryan, and bassist Christopher Ryan assembled a batch of songs exploring desperation, grief, redemption, and resilience with both cinematic detail and lived-in emotionality. A sharp new turn from one of indie-rock’s most enduringly vital forces, Coin-O-Matic arrives as a complicated love letter to a way of life slowly slipping from the collective memory. The follow-up to Emotional Contracts (hailed by Uncut as one of 2023’s best albums), Coin-O-Matic takes its title from a cigarette-vending-machine company that served as the headquarters of Raymond Patriarca—a legendary mobster who ran one of the most ruthless crime families in U.S. history. “If you grew up in Rhode Island years ago, you’d see all these mobsters on the news and then run into them at a restaurant on Federal Hill,” says McCauley, referring to Providence’s version of Little Italy. “They were criminals but also very colorful char

Close Details Tuesday, October 13, 2026 8:00PM Jon McLaughlin The Scenarios Tour 2026 Jon McLaughlin Everything in Jon McLaughlin’ s life makes its way into his music, whether he’s conscious of it or not. The artist, raised in Indiana and based in Nashville, brings all of his experiences and beliefs into each song he creates, something that is especially true now that he’s the father of two young girls. Jon released his debut album, Indiana , in 2007 on Island Def Jam, attracting fans with his heartfelt, hook-laden songwriting and impassioned delivery. He’s released six full-lengths in the years since and revealed a true evolution in both his piano playing and singing. He’s played shows with Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson and Adele, collaborated with longtime friend Sara Bareilles, co-written with Demi Lovato and even performed at the Academy Awards in 2008. Jon’s album, Like Us , dropped in October of 2015 via Razor & Tie, and he spent the past few years touring extensively before heading back into his Nashville studio to work on new music. Jon released a Christmas EP in 2017 titled Red & Green with two originals and his take on a few holiday classics. In November of 2018 Jon released his album Angst & Grace Still My Girl which features “ Still My Girl ” written for his youngest daughter. His newest album, Scenarios (October 2025), marked a bold new chapter, featuring brand-new songs that showcase both his storytelling and signature piano-driven sound. This holiday season, Jon brings his beloved Home For The Holidays tour—featuring Morgan James, Kris Allen, David Davis, and T.3—to 13 U.S. cities after two sold-out years in Carmel, IN. As with everything he does, Jon’s goal is to create connections. He wants to translate his experiences and ideas into music that reaches fans everywhere. His passion for music and playing is

Close Details Friday, October 16, 2026 8:00PM Altan 2026 Altan Altan is celebrating 40 years on the road! After four decades, Altan remains at the forefront of traditional Irish music, blending the raw energy of their native Donegal fiddle style with a rare melodic sensibility. To coincide with this tremendous milestone, they have planned special celebratory concerts in Ireland and abroad, inviting special guests to join them. Altan evolved from Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and her late husband, Belfast flute player, Frankie Kennedy playing duets, first at folk clubs and smaller festivals in Ireland an on to the world - wide stage. The group has always been regarded as tradition bearers, bringing their native Donegal music and songs to a wider public, keeping true to their roots while exploring modern arrangements and textures to entice new followers. This integrity in their music has placed them in high esteem by their peers and is why they are regarded as one of the most popular Irish traditional bands of all time. They were the first ever Irish traditional band to be signed to a major label by Virgin Records in 1995. The group has its original core members: founding member, lead singer, and fiddler Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh , Ciaran Curran on bouzouki, and Mark Kelly on guitar. Steep Canyon Rangers arrive at a moment of renewal and reaffirmation with Next Act, their 15th studio album set to be released May 22, 2026. The record represents a conscious tightening of focus: a return to the bluegrass foundations that first bound the band together, approached with the confidence and emotional range earned through years of collective evolution. It is an affirmation that bluegrass still contains endless expressive possibility.Formed in North Carolina and shaped equally by the Appalachian Mountains and the Piedmont, Steep Canyon Rangers have long occupied a singular space in American roots music. From their earliest recordings, the band demonstrated an unusual ability to honor traditional bluegrass forms while allowing contemporary songwriting, literary influence, and regional storytelling to seep naturally into the music.Over time, this balance earned them both bluegrass credibility and broader Americana acclaim, culminating in a Best Bluegrass Album GRAMMY Award for 2013's Nobody Knows You, additional nominations for Rare Bird Alert (2012) and North Carolina Songbook (2020), and an induction into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.Steep Canyon Rangers is made up of Graham Sharp on banjo and vocals, Mike Guggino on mandolin/mandola and vocals, Aaron Burdett on guitar and vocals, Nicky Sanders on fiddle and vocals, Mike Ashworth on drums, dobro, percussion and vocals, and Barrett Smith on bass, guitar, and vocals.

The world of Hen’s Teeth is earthier, darker, more robust and more tactile than that of Light Verse. The songs have titles like “Roses,” “Robin’s Egg,” “Dates and Dead People,” “Singing Saw.” “Run into the one you love forever / Laugh into each other’s empty mouth,” Beam sings on “Roses,” the album’s first track. It’s one of several songs in which lovers are depicted as so deeply entwined they physically merge. “Paper and Stone” recalls that “But for the time we fell in two / You’d be me and I’d be you / One crust of bread could fit in our mouths / You’d breathe in and I’d let it out.” And on “In Your Ocean,” we find Beam “Praying for dry ground / Though I only want to drown / When I find myself swimming in your ocean.”

more
Sam Grisman is a bass player, music appreciator, and bandleader who grew up in Mill Valley, California in a home where some of the great acoustic music of our time was being recorded on a regular basis. His father, legendary mandolinist, composer, and producer, David Grisman, was constantly having friends come over to his home studio for recording sessions and rehearsals. These friends, such as Doc Watson, Jerry Garcia, John Hartford, Mike Seeger, and Tony Rice all left an impression on the younger Grisman and inspired him to pursue a life making music with his many talented friends. Sam Grisman Project was created to shed light on the music that Sam grew up around, and highlight that music’s influence on the members of the collective and in the greater music community. The band’s shows create a safe space where the band and audience can bask in the shared love and reverence for the great music and musicians who continue to inspire us all. The friends who make up Sam Grisman Project are a rotating cadre of acousticians who are some of the brightest individual voices on their respective instruments. Members of this rotating cast of instrumental wizards include guitarists Max Flansburg, Logan Ledger, Sam Leslie, Henry Moser, Jesse Harper, and Jefferson Hamer, mandolinists Dominick Leslie, Joe K. Walsh, Matt Flinner, and Jesse Appelman, clawhammer banjo maestro Victor Furtado, fiddlers John Mailander, Alex Hargreaves, Nate Leath, Shad Cobb, and Phoebe Hunt, cellist Nat Smith, and Todd Livingston on the Dobro. The band also frequently collaborates with legendary singer, songwriter, and bluegrass pioneer Peter Rowan, a deeply meaningful connection for Sam and the band tying directly back to his father David Grisman and the Old and In the Way legacy. Over the years Sam Grisman Project has been joined by a wide range of spontaneous and exciting guests including David Grisman, John Sebastian, Tim O’Brien, Billy Strings, Maria Muldaur, Margo Price, and many more. This ever evolving collective of exceptional humans who happen to be incredible musicians is a testament to the abundance of joy, and wealth of experiences that growing up around this timeless music has brought into the younger Grisman’s life. Sam Grisman Project is committed to putting their love, gratitude, and individuality into the music that they share on stage each night, and to participating in the community effort of preserving, expanding, and appreciating great American acoustic music. To preserve the sonic integrity of their instruments and voices, SGP plays acoustic music into condenser microphones. The sound on stage is fully acoustic and sensitive, so we kindly ask that you save conversations for before and after the show or during the set break. Thanks for coming and thanks for listening. We hope you enjoy the music. “They don’t just play this music. They live it. And they make you feel like you’re part of it too.” — No Depression “This isn’t nostalgia. It’s a living breathing celebration led by musicians who understand the soul of the music.” — Bluegrass Toda“One of the most joyful and reverent tributes to the Grateful Dawg legacy you’ll ever witness.” — Relix Magazine

As a child, if you’re lucky, summer afternoons stretch out like a yawn, pool waves are as warm and engulfing as a blanket, the safety of your mother’s arms feels endless. On her new album, Neon Summer Skin , Bedouine , the project of Azniv Korkejian , explores this feeling of safety long before one can fully understand the concept. Written with vivid, honest and intimate imagery after visiting her family in Saudi Arabia, it tells the story of family and upbringing, and mourns the end of her childhood. There is a singular resonance and newfound heft in this music previously unheard in Bedouine’s discography. Bedouine is known for making gentle, lilting folk songs that build fingerpicked guitar melodies into tsunamis of emotion. Her masterful songwriting and timeless melodies have earned her praise from publications like Pitchfork, who said her music “boasts a surreal calm and lived in glow,” and Rolling Stone, who lauded her “humble folk-pop brilliance,” plus an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and tours with the likes of Fleet Foxes and Father John Misty. As personal as her songs have been, they’ve often built upon universal experiences. The writing here, however, is full of specific memories: a neon swim suit, beads of water dripping down tangled hair, the blood of a lamb, often sacrificed at Syrian weddings, oozing across the pavement. “It was the first time I had the inclination to write a record about one main subject which gave me a clarity and motivation I hadn't quite had before.” Bedouine started working on the record after a trip to Saudi Arab

more
Patterson’s music is bolstered by her intensely soulful music partnerships. She worked closely with producer and long-time collaborator Eric Van Thyne on “Last”, “Win You”, and “Just My Friend”. “When it comes to working on music, he contains a clarity that is genuinely baffling at times,” Jordan states. The record also showcases some new faces such as John Debold (Vampire Weekend, Haim, Hozier) on “QDS”, Henry Kwapis (Dominic Fike, Dijon, Selena Gomez) on “Just My Friend”, as well as Parker and Marshall Mulherin on “Cinderella”. She worked closely with Kali Flanagan of Superfan on the EP, and she credits much of the meticulous craftsmanship of the project to his rigorous attention to detail. “He’s completely aware of what is happening. There’s no hiding with him, but it’s life-affirming; it’s like, oh, I’m alive.” Flanagan puts it plainly: “Jordan is an artist who is so visibly secure in her prowess and vision as a songwriter, producer, and collector, which makes collaboration feel like an open expanse and playground for me and her other contributors to run free.” She also collaborated with Clyde Crooks on “Last” and “Win You”, and he brings a ferocity to Jordan’s music that completely enhances the unfetteredness of the record. “The resistance that plagues most artists is simply not present in her. She was born free. This is evident the moment you enter her musical kingdom,” says Crooks.

A small neighborhood coffeehouse and listening room, it has long been a hangout for music lovers and aspiring musicians, and, in the late 1970s, one of these was a young Moravian College student named John Gorka . Though his academic course work lay in Philosophy and History, music began to offer paramount enticements. Soon he found himself living in the club’s basement and acting as resident M.C. and soundman, encountering legendary folk troubadours like Canadian singer/songwriter Stan Rogers, Eric Andersen, Tom Paxton and Claudia Schmidt. Their brand of folk-inspired acoustic music inspired him, and before long he was performing his own songs - mostly as an opener for visiting acts. Soon he started traveling to New York City, where Jack Hardy’s legendary Fast Folk circle (a breeding ground for many a major singer/songwriter) became a powerful source of education and encouragement. Folk meccas like Texas’ Kerrville Folk Festival (where he won the New Folk Award in 1984) and Boston followed, and his stunningly soulful baritone voice and emerging songwriting began turning heads. Those who had at one time inspired him - Suzanne Vega, Bill Morrissey, Nanci Griffith, Christine Lavin, Shawn Colvin - had become his peers. In 1987, the young Minnesota-based Red House Records caught wind of John’s talents and released his first album, I Know , to popular and critical acclaim. With unusual drive and focus, John hit the ground running and, when an offer came from Windham Hill’s Will Ackerman in 1989, he signed with that label’s im

Joy Oladokun is one of today’s most compelling genre-defying voices. A queer Black musician and daughter of Nigerian immigrants, Oladokun has become a vital cultural voice, writing songs that explore identity, faith, mental health, and social justice with honesty and restraint. Those themes remain at the heart of Hope Is A Heavy Thing, Oladokun’s new 12-track album, due September 25. Produced by Oladokun with additional contributions from Nigerian producer Spellz and a feature from Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold, the album marks a bold new creative chapter, broadening her sound while continuing to explore questions of identity, resilience, and belonging with the emotional depth that has become her signature. The project further reflects Oladokun’s ability to draw from diverse influences while creating music that transcends genre and geography.

These days, the 30-year-old musician leads a double life. From her temporary home in the west of Ukraine, she travels to the front lines of the war to perform for soldiers. And she also travels abroad to perform, relating what she has seen—and thanking audiences for their support of the Ukrainian people. Maryna plays the bandura, a Ukrainian string instrument that looks like a cross between a lute and a zither. Steeped as a child in her country’s traditional music, she now incorporates some non-traditional elements into her playing, principally jazz, using it both as a solo instrument and to accompany her powerful singing. In Ukraine, she gained a national following after appearances on that country’s versions of “The X Factor” and “The Voice” as well as placing in Eurovision. Now she is expanding her audience as she brings the story andj culture of Ukraine to the world. A viola, piano, dulcimer, harp, lyre, and tenor guitar player, Patrick’s decade of critically acclaimed work, touring, joining Patti Smith's band, collaborations with Florence Welch, Marianne Faithful, Angelo Badalamenti, and rapid, stellar ascent led to a sudden retreat from the industry where a decade of personal trial ended with a renaissance and reconnection with his work and vocation, documented in a feature film biopic documentary slated for release at the end of this year, executive produced by Tilda Swinton. Last year, he released his seventh album “Crying the Neck”, an end-of-summer folkloric odyssey set in the landscape at the end of the East of England where Wolf lives and works. The album’s success brought him back to his North American audiences; for his first tour in over 13 years, he embarked on a ten-week tour driving himself from east to west coast, where he discovered not only his fanbase had been waiting all that time, but a brand new one had grown in his absence in the States. The success of last year's tour brings Patrick back to North America this year with “The Tour of the Beast”, this time an extensive East to West coast and back again routing with a coinciding 7” single and release campaign, launching

A virtuosic four-piece that’s taken the progressive bluegrass world by storm, AJ Lee & Blue Summit came together as teenagers in the fertile California festival scene, cutting their teeth at campsite jams and parking lot picking sessions before landing their first gigs at bars and cafes around Santa Cruz. After a pair of widely lauded self-released LPs, the group landed a deal with Signature Sounds for their label debut, City Of Glass, which earned rave reviews and led to festival slots everywhere from Telluride and Merlefest to High Sierra and RockyGrass, where their standout set prompted Rolling Stone to declare that “the band can seamlessly weave from bluegrass to country to western swing to folk-rock, with the powerhouse vocals of Lee as the core.

Close Details Thursday, November 5, 2026 8:00PM Solas Solas Solas is lighting up stages across the globe as they celebrate three decades of pushing boundaries and honoring traditions in Irish music. Hailed by The Boston Globe as “the finest Celtic ensemble this country has ever produced,” and by The Wall Street Journal as “an Irish traditional band bearing all the marks of greatness,” Solas continues to captivate audiences with their spellbinding musicianship and genre-defying creativity. Formed in New York City in 1995, Solas quickly rose to prominence as a revolutionary force in Irish-American music. The very first iteration of Solas brought together a lineup of extraordinary talent including multi-instrumentalist Séamus Egan , fiddler Winifred Horan , vocalist Karan Casey , guitarist John Doyle , and accordionist John Williams . Together, they redefined the Celtic sound for a new generation, weaving traditional Irish tunes with elements of folk, bluegrass, Americana, and contemporary songwriting. Now, with twelve critically acclaimed albums and a reputation for dynamic, emotionally charged live performances, Solas has set new standards for musicianship, repertoire, and intensity. Their debut album Solas (1996) established a bold new voice in traditional music, and each subsequent release has showcased the band’s remarkable ability to tell stories that resonate across time and cultures. Among their most ambitious works is the 2013 concept album Shamrock City , a deeply personal project inspired by Egan’s great-great-uncle, who immigrated from Ireland to the mining town of Butte, Montana in the early 1900s. The album is a powerful meditation on immigrant identity, labor struggles, and lost dreams, and it solidified Solas’ reputation as not only virtuosic musicians but evocative storytellers. Across New Mexico, Vermont, Los Angeles, and a long stretch of tour stops hooking those places together, All Set The Bone came alive. While writing and recording it, Freeman moved out of his longtime home in Burlington, holed up in a middle-of-nowhere part of the Southwest, and stepped into music full-time, leaving behind odd jobs as a cemetery landscaper and restaurant line cook. The following album is populated by a grain of similarly unsettled people: a voter buried in credit card debt, a pair of Christian hearts clanking like trapped lobsters, a town of bent necks, a lover with limbs bent like crabapple trees. Freeman calls All Set The Bone a “reflection of a lot of change, and a lot of tension.” It’s a box of political and personal yarns spread across four sides, “inhuman events” and grief pulled into a “perfect tsunami.” Freeman was barely done making Burnover when he started writing its successor. He chased disruptions with confidence, creating on impulse rather than familiarity. “I had this epiphany moment where I understood what the next record should be,” he says, “which surprised me, because I thought it would take a lot longer to have the influences or inspiration required to undertake writing a new album.” What arrived instead were radioactive songs that never seemed overworked or moralizing. There may as well have been a “no overthinking” sign pasted above the studio door. Traces of pre- Good News Modest Mouse and early Pavement linger, but All Set The Bone resists easy lineage through a deliberate fracture that’s twisting yet familiar. Freeman’s l

Fennell’s latest offering, Nobody Lives Here , marks his clearest, crispest writing. Written, recorded, and produced by him and his longtime collaborator Brian Eichelberger, it is fueled by the keen understanding that life is a contradiction, a fleeting moment. But as we accept the presence of loss, we can still welcome others into our space with melody, lyrics, a slide guitar, or a cello’s hum. His sense of humanity is his musical compass. As an artist, Fennell takes license to both gut and be gutted. “ If the dark inspires the good, that’s a good thing to be honest about, ” he says.

Close Enter Promo Code Jeffrey Foucault, Sunday, November 8, 2026 8:00PM Event Summary Sunday, November 8, 2026 8:00PM Jeffrey Foucault 2026 Jeffrey Foucault In two decades on the road Jeffrey Foucault has become one of the most distinctive voices in American music, refining a sound instantly recognizable for its simplicity and emotional power. With a string of critically acclaimed studio albums – “Stark, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest” ( The New Yorker) , "Beat-up troubadour folk whittled to dolorous perfection” (Uncut), “Songwriting Brilliance,” ( Irish Times) – he’s built a brick-and-mortar international touring career and a devoted following, one that includes luminaries like Van Dyke Parks, Greil Marcus, and Don Henley. In September of 2024 Jeffrey Foucault will release The Universal Fire (Fluff & Gravy, 9/6/24), his first album of entirely new material since 2018. A series of high-voltage performances cut live in one room, the album is both a working wake – Foucault lost his best friend and drummer Billy Conway, to cancer in 2021 – and a meditation on the nature of beauty, artifact, and loss. Augmenting Foucault's all-star band with members of Calexico and Bon Iver (drummer John Convertino and producer/saxophonist Mike Lewis) The Universal Fire sets Conway’s death against the massive 2008 fire at the Universal Studios lot in California that destroyed the master recordings of some of our bedrock American music, to interrogate ideas about mortality, legacy, meaning, and calling. Aug 29 Buy Tickets Artists THAO THAO, known for her distinctly evocative songwriting and dynamic, arresting performance, has continued to evolve artistically and personally since dropping the moniker “Thao & The Get Down Stay Down” in 2021. Her latest album, Temple , reflects a profound exploration of freedom and belonging, shaped by her experiences reconnecting with her cultural roots on her first trip to Vietnam. This journey is also the subject of her intimate documentary, Nobody Dies , which premiered on PBS to critical acclaim. Throughout her career, Thao has expanded her reach beyond recording and touring and glided into the realms of writing, filmmaking, television, podcasting, and theater. She has guest hosted the celebrated podcast Song Exploder , hosted PBS's Southern Storytellers series, and scored numerous film and dance projects, all the while continuing to tour nationally and internationally. Thao can currently be seen in the music film Amongst The Disquiet (which she co-created, starred in, and wrote original music for) as it shows in contemporary art institutions and events all over the world (e.g. New Orleans Museum of Art, MCA Denver, São Paulo Biennial). Her sixth studio album will be released in 2026. She is currently at work writing her debut book for Graywolf Press (2027) and developing a musical. Balancing personal vulnerability with broader cultural commentary, Thao remains a prominent voice in the contemporary music scene and beyond. A profound songwriter, Chris continues to draw deeply from the blues, American folk music, modern poets and philosophers. From his early days as the New Orleans transplant in the Boston folk scene, through his wilderness years, to his reemergence in the 1990s as one of America’s most distinctive acoustic performers, Chris Smither continues to hone his distinctive sound. He has always traveled his own road and stayed true to his musical vision. He has developed and maintained loyal friendships over the years with kindred-spirited musicians like Bonnie Raitt, Jorma Kaukonen, and Tim O’Brien, while at the same time throughout his career been inspired by and inspiring to today's next-generation of musicians like The Suitcase Junket and Peter Mulvey. He may be best known for writing "Love You Like A Man" which Bonnie Raitt and, more recently, jazz great Diana Krall have covered. His music has been covered by numerous artists and featured in soundtrack albums, independent films, television, and commercials. Reviewers continue to praise his dazzling guitar work, gravelly voice and songwriting. This year’s concert brings together some of the finest talents in bluegrass, including Bill Evans (banjo), Jim Nunally (guitar), Chad Manning (fiddle), Sharon Gilchrist (bass), Mike Witcher (dobro), Nell Robinson (vocals) and Max Schwartz (bass). These musicians have performed together in various combinations for decades and for this year’s tour, the Reunion returns to a focus on their own original compositions along with paying tribute to California songwriters and tunesmiths. Bill Evans Bill Evans has been involved with bluegrass music and the world of the banjo as a player, teacher, composer, writer and historian for over forty-five years. He is a recipient of the coveted Steve Martin Banjo Prize, is a member of the American Banjo Museum’s Hall of Fame and the author of “ Banjo for Dummies .” He occupies a unique niche in the banjo world: celebrated worldwide for his traditional as well as progressive bluegrass banjo styles as well as his innovative original compositions, he also enjoys a reputation as an outstanding instructor. Then, barely out of high school, Lucy Kaplansky took off for New York City. There she found a fertile community of songwriters and performers—Suzanne Vega, Steve Forbert, The Roches, and others. With a beautiful flair for harmony, Lucy was everyone’s favorite singing partner, but most often she found herself singing as a duo with Shawn Colvin. People envisioned big things for them; in fact, The New York Times said it was “easy to predict stardom for her.” But then Lucy dropped it all. Convinced that her calling was in another direction, Lucy left the musical fast track to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology. Upon completing her degree, Dr. Kaplansky took a job at a New York hospital working with chronically mentally ill adults, and also started a private practice. Yet she continued to sing. Lucy was often pulled back into the studio by her friends, (who now had contracts with record labels) wanting her to sing on their albums. She harmonized on Colvin’s Grammy-winning "Steady On," and on Nanci Griffith’s "Lone Star State of Mind" and "Little Love Affairs." She also landed soundtrack credits, singing with Suzanne Vega on "Pretty in Pink" and with Griffith on "The Firm," and several commercial credits as well—including “The Heartbeat of America” for Chevrolet. Then Shawn Colvin—who was itching to produce a record—hooked up with Lucy, her ex-singing partner. They went into the studio, and when Lucy’s solo tapes got into the hands of Bob Feldman, president of Red House Records, he was blown away. Suddenly, Lucy was back in the music busi

I've learned a lot, become more comfortable playing with others, and have greatly expanded my list of songs/tunes. • Thanks for your ongoing patience with those of us who continue to put the "slow" in

Nothing says the holiday season has arrived like hearing the voice of Karen Carpenter singing Merry Christmas, Darling . Few voices in pop history are as instantly recognizable, or as deeply loved, as hers. The Carpenters Songbook: At Christmas brings the icon’s extraordinary voice and the brother-sister duo’s unforgettable music back to the stage in a beautifully crafted all-new production from the creative team behind The Simon & Garfunkel Story . With a full band and heartfelt storytelling, this concert captures the warmth, emotion, and musical brilliance of The Carpenters. It’s a touching tribute that invites audiences to sing-along, reminisce, and fall in love all over again. Expect to relive all of their favorites including We’ve Only Just Begun , Close to You , and Rainy Days and Mondays with this heartfelt love letter to the quiet magic of Karen and Richard Carpenter. Just in time for “the most wonderful time of the year," this special performance will include many of the duo’s chart-topping holiday hits too!

Close Details Saturday, December 5, 2026 8:00PM Cherish the Ladies Celtic Christmas Cherish The Ladies For four decades, Cherish the Ladies has captivated audiences worldwide as one of the most celebrated Irish music ensembles in history. Renowned for their exhilarating mix of traditional Irish music, stunning vocals, and propulsive step dancing, they have won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. As the Boston Globe aptly puts it: "It is simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn’t enjoy what they do!" This Grammy-nominated group has forged a path for women in the male-dominated Irish music scene, leaving a lasting legacy with 18 critically acclaimed albums and thousands of performances worldwide, from prestigious concert halls to the Olympics and even the White House. Led by the dynamic flute and whistle virtuoso Joanie Madden , a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Award, Cherish the Ladies offers an unforgettable experience of music, song, and dance—a true masterclass in entertainment. Alongside Madden are stellar musicians; Mary Coogan on guitar, Mirella Murray on accordion, Kathleen Boyle on piano, Nollaig Casey on fiddle, vocalist Kate Purcell , and a talented ensemble of world-class dancers. The New York Times praises their sound as "passionate, tender, and rambunctious," while the Washington Post marvels at their "astonishing array of virtuosity." The group has been honored as the BBC’s Best Musical Group of the Year and crowned Top North American Celtic Group at the Irish Music Awards. Their impressive list of collaborations includes the Boston Pops Symphony, Vince Gill, Nanci Griffith, The Chieftains, Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. Their continued success as one of the best-loved Irish groups rests on their blend of virtuoso instr

There are bands you listen to, and then there are bands you experience.
Horse Feathers has spent nearly two decades crafting songs that are intimate, cinematic, and quietly unforgettable. Rooted in the Pacific Northwest, their sound weaves together folk, chamber music, and haunting harmonies into something that feels both timeless and deeply human.
If you love the kind of music that makes a room go still before the applause, this is a night you won't want to miss.
Join us as we welcome Horse Feathers to Woodhouse for an evening of beautiful songwriting, rich instrumentation, and the kind of performance that stays with you long after the last note.
Tickets available now through the link in our bio. ✨🌲🎻🍂

Close Enter Promo Code The Fretliners When The Kettle Sings Tour , Thursday, December 10, 2026 8:00PM Event Summary Thursday, December 10, 2026 8:00PM The Fretliners When The Kettle Sings Tour 2026 The Fretliners There is something happening between the mountains and the plains. A stirring in the dust. A song rising from the timber. Out of that landscape of grit and grace comes The Fretliners, a band carrying forward the oldest tradition in American music: telling the truth. You can call them Colorado’s next great acoustic act. You can point to their Telluride and RockyGrass New Artist wins. You can talk about their musicianship, their harmonies, or their ability to command a room. All of those things are true. But they only tell part of the story. The Fretliners are carving their own path through American music, drawing from bluegrass, Americana, folk, and rock to create something that feels both familiar and completely their own. Their songs carry the weight of long roads, changing seasons, lost loves, and the quiet hope that keeps people moving forward. What separates The Fretliners is not just how they play, but what they have to say. Their writing feels rooted in something older than trends. They sing about places that shaped them, people who stayed, memories that linger, and the moments that remind us we are still connected to something real. There is a kind of honesty in their music that cannot be manufactured. Each note feels lived-in,like old wood worn smooth by generations of hands. Each lyric feels like a conversation around a fire, a story passed down because it still matters. The Fretliners are not chasing nostalgia. They are honoring what came before while creating what comes next. This isn’t revival. It’s renewal. Website | Facebook | Insta
