  Sonny Rollins is a tenor saxophone giant who came up in the modern jazz e
 ra. Sonny creatively incorporated the original bebop saxophone style inven
 ted by alto saxophonist Charlie Parker and transferred it to tenor saxopho
 ne. John Coltrane \, the other modern-era tenor giant\, followed Sonny's f
 ootsteps and recorded with him an exciting duet on the selection “Tenor 
 Madness” —the only time they played together in the studio. Sonny Roll
 ins recorded earlier with Miles Davis \, and the two of them formed a clos
 e musical bond. This evening's music will be something to be remembered. O
 utstanding New York saxophonist Steve Heckman \, who knows closely and wil
 l interpret the music of Sonny Rollins\, will be accompanied by the powerf
