For this special concert, she will present a collection of pieces that explore the fusion of her two worlds: firm Bay Area roots and a growing presence in New York City. She brings a rooted yet unmistakably modern voice to the jazz landscape, grounded in a sincere reverence for the great jazz traditions of the last century. Her interpretations of the canon are purposeful and exciting, imbued with nuance and a sense of discovery that keeps familiar standards feeling fresh and personal. As a composer and arranger, she expands the music with original works and jazz-hued interpretations that draw seamlessly from contemporary folk, R&B, and pop. The result is a sound that feels both sophisticated and accessible, without ever losing its center. Addleman’s musical identity is cohesive, expressive, and forward-looking, honoring the past while confidently shaping her own place within it. Addleman holds a Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music. She is currently on faculty at Long Island University’s Roc Nation School of Music, as well as the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division. Her most recent release, Into the Light, is a collection of pieces that contrast the light and dark moments of her life and career. It has received praise from critics and musicians alike and is available on streaming services. Band Lineup: Amanda Addleman, vocals/piano Nico Martinez, acoustic bass Zach Adleman, drums
