Internationally acclaimed DoYeon Kim performs at Spruce Street concerts in a rare solo performance on the gayageum, a 2,000-year-old traditional Korean 12-string plucked zither. DoYeon Kim's music is a singular synthesis of Korean traditions, avant-garde jazz and improvisation. Her music draws on her deep training in Korean traditions while opening the instrument to free improvisation and contemporary experimental music.
