lla Band Giraffe is the first new music from Gilla Band in nearly 4 years.
This follows their critically acclaimed 3rd album Most Normal which Pitch
fork described in a best new music review as “a masterpiece of panic and
deconstruction”. Live The Guardian described the band’s set as feelin
g “genuinely dangerous\, like one last rave before the apocalypse\, and
as perfect an expression of rock’n’roll’s essential auto-destructive
impulse as this writer’s ever heard” For over ten years now\, the Dub
lin quartet — vocalist Dara Kiely\, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges\, bassi
st Daniel Fox\, and drummer Adam Faulkner — have been redefining what yo
u could loosely call “rock music” in the 21st century\, influencing a
wide swath of similarly forward-thinking guitar acts along the way. The ba
nd perfected a vision that wasn’t quite post-punk\, wasn’t quite noise
 -rock\, wasn’t quite anything besides an idiosyncratic\, ground-breaking
hybrid that could only come from the four of them - Giraffe is their bold
new offering. Annie-Claude Deschênes Annie-Claude Deschênes embraces mu
ltidisciplinarity in her quest to merge music and performance art\, challe
nging stage conventions. A prominent figure in Montreal's independent musi
c scene for over twenty years\, she gained recognition as the frontwoman o
f the cult bands Duchess Says and PyPy. Annie's solo project marks a shift
from aggression to dystopian disco vibes. Inspired by minimal pop and ele
ctronic pioneers\, her debut album\, LES MANIÈRES DE TABLE\, is both danc
eable and disquieting\, reexamining social codes of politeness. Back to Ev
