Take a closer look at the Legion of Honor’s Auguste Rodin sculptures, one of the most important collections of the artist’s work outside of the Musée Rodin, Paris. Through an overview of the more than 100 works largely (and lovingly) assembled by the museum’s cofounder, Alma de Bretteville Spreckels, learn about new discoveries and hear stories shared with the public for the first time. From the iconic Thinker to lesser-known jewels, this talk unspools the love affair between this giant of modern art and our city. This lecture will be recorded and available to watch on this page after the event.About the curator Jeffrey Fraiman, PhD, is associate curator of European decorative arts and sculpture.
