SUMMARY:Seong-Jin Cho Plays Mendelssohn
LOCATION:Davies Symphony Hall\, 201 Van Ness Ave\, San Francisco\, CA 94102
DESCRIPTION:Overview Pianist Seong-Jin Cho and debuting conductor Antonello
Manacorda make a persuasive case for Mendelssohn’s Second Concerto\, an
elegantly crafted work from an era when concertos were often mere vehicle
s for virtuosic showmanship. Anton Webern’s mid-1930s orchestration of B
ach’s Ricercare from The Musical Offering finds the gleaming throughline
 s in this polyphonic marvel.\n\nhttps://www.sfsymphony.org/Buy-Tickets/202
