StorySlam Oakland is Oakland's longest-running true storytelling show, where people tell short and true stories from their lives. Or just listen and laugh. How it works: The hosts will encourage audience members to shout out ideas for themes. It could be a theme you have a story about, or a theme you want to hear some true stories about. We'll write them down and then the fun begins. You can also take your time between now and the show and craft a story on our pre-announced theme, which is Decisions Decisions. We usually have time for about 10 storytellers. Any story is good as long as it's true, about you, and five to six minutes long. We'll have a timer to keep you on track. Remember, no notes or reading allowed. You'll tell it like you're telling friends around the dinner table. Hosted by creator Julie Soller & comic Inanc Ino. Tickets at StorySlam Oakland

He’s built a free tool for you to use.

The Bay Area has an amazing live music and event scene — and so does Santa Cruz, just over the hill. Don’t sit at home, don’t go to the same-old, GET OUT THERE.

This is a very inclusive list of over 400 sources and venues across the bay area and Santa Cruz County, and all their events.

Now more than ever. Go connect with humans.
