Kuma Sagar, is a rising Nepali singer and songwriter celebrated for blending traditional Newa melodies with modern music. Born and raised in Bhaktapur, his journey into music began at a dafa, where he accompanied his grandfather to play traditional instruments like the Khing baja. Early exposure to Newa bhajans and community music fueled his passion for the craft. Sagar’s debut song, Bajeko Bajang, recorded on his mobile phone, marked the start of his professional journey. Kuma Sagaar is celebrated for revitalizing Malla-era melodies and traditional instruments like the Dha, Flute, and Bhusyah. His music celebrates Newa culture, bringing vibrancy to festivals and jatras.
