Kyle Parry is a writer and professor with a new book: Ways of Seeing After Dark. He teaches at UC Santa Cruz in a department called History of Art and Visual Culture, or HAVC. Long obsessed with birds, now also obsessed with the moon, he lives in San Francisco with his partner and daughter. Darkness is widely misunderstood, argues Kyle Parry. We take darkness as the enemy of sight, yet we can’t see without it.

TL;DR

Brian wants you to go out and hear live events more often.

He’s built a free tool for you to use.

The Bay Area has an amazing live music and event scene — and so does Santa Cruz, just over the hill. Don’t sit at home, don’t go to the same-old, GET OUT THERE.

This is a very inclusive list of over 400 sources and venues across the bay area and Santa Cruz County, and all their events.

Now more than ever. Go connect with humans.
