  and composer has spanned more than forty-five years and many celebrated r
 ecordings. His catalog has been cited by DownBeat as “the best recorded 
 output of the decade.” Bill Frisell & HARMONY FIVE expands upon 2019’s
  HARMONY project\, blending jazz\, traditional Americana\, and chamber mus
 ic\; and features Petra Haden on vocals\, Hank Roberts on cello and vocals
 \, Luke Bergman on bass and vocals\, and Tim Angulo on drums. Bill Frisell

 ackage. Long hailed as one of the most distinctive and original improvisin
 g guitarists of our time\, he has also earned a reputation for teasing out
  thematic connections with his music…” – The New York Times Recogniz
 ed as one of America’s 21 most vital and productive performing artists\,
  Frisell was named an inaugural Doris Duke Artist in 2012. He is also a re
 cipient of grants from United States Artists and Meet the Composer\, among
  others. From 2013 – 2015\, Bill was Resident Artistic Director for Jazz
  at Lincoln Center for their Roots of Americana series\, and in 2016\, he 
 was a beneficiary of the first FreshGrass Composition commission to preser
 ve and support innovative grassroots music. Upon San Francisco Jazz openin
 g their doors in 2013\, he served as one of their Resident Artistic Direct
 ors. Bill is also the subject of a documentary film by director Emma Franz
