DESCRIPTION:Greetings\, friends! It has been quite a while\, but I am thril
 led to announce the next installment of the Opening Ears Concert Series! T
 he Opening Ears Concert Series is dedicated to creating opportunities for 
 the artists of the Bay Area’s vibrant creative music scene to present th
 eir work to folks who may or may not be aware that this kind of expression
  exists! Please join us at 1026 Pleasant Oaks Dr. 94523 Saturday\, Septemb
 er 26 at 4pm (doors open) music at 5 pm for a truly stacked show! First se
 t will be the return of the great Jordan Glenn (solo percussion) followed 
 by a set from Trio Z\, and concluded by a free for all quintet which will 
 include me on trumpet. As always I will serve food and drinks and collect 
 at the door for the visiting musicians ($20 suggested donation\, no one tu
 rned away for lack of funds). Jordan Glenn is a drummer\, percussionist\, 
 improviser and composer who spent his formative years in Oregon drawing ca
 rtoons\, taking dance classes from his aunt\, and putting on plays with hi
 s sisters. His solo work distills what he values most... spontaneity\, spa
 ce\, texture and groove. A document of this work can be heard on his first
  solo recording "Flustered"\, released in 2022 on Full Spectrum Records. -

 ased experimental string trio of bassist Gianna (Zakhary) Caudillo and cel
 lists Ali Ziyad and Julius Zimmerman\, is an unbridled conglomeration of i
 ts members’ musical backgrounds\, ranging from Baroque counterpoint to f
 ree jazz. Equal parts Igor Stravinsky and Ornette Coleman\, Trio Z’s fre
 netic spontaneous composition turns a chamber string trio upside down and 
 backwards\, inside-out and outside-in. Described as "transgressive\," "poi
 gnant\," and "thoughtful\," the band sets out to swing\, even when caught
