The group honors the great tradition of Brazilian Vocal groups from the last half of the 20th century through present day (Quarteto Em Cy, MPB4, Boca Livre and more), singing fresh arrangements of classics and gems by composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chico Buarque, Ary Barroso, Dori Caymmi and more. Catia Lund: Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Catia is the lead vocalist for Oakland Samba Revue, for Bébé(Brazil East Bay Ensemble), Samba 415 and more. Lillian Yee: Vocalist of The Brazilian Project, and collaborator within the wider Bay Area Brazilian Music community. She is co-founder of the Women Composers Collective and of Garotas da Lua, where she also serves as one of the group’s arrangers. The vocalists are accompanied by the well known 7 string guitarist Ricardo Peixoto and the accomplished percussionist Brian Rice.
