After he takes a job as a taxi driver to cope with chronic insomnia, ex-Marine Travis Bickle (Robert “You talkin’ to me” De Niro) begins to see the dark city as one vast cesspool of crime and concupiscence: raunchy streets by night, seedy porn theaters by day, and only one bright spot—the angelic Betsy (Cybill Shepherd), a worker for a political campaign. When his angel takes it on the wing, Bickle decides to clean the streets of their depraved human debris.

    bampfa.org · details
A young professional leaves Seoul life behind for the markedly different pace of a rural village and learns to “make her own time” in this sweetly flavored adaptation of a famed Japanese manga. Alone but never lonely, our heroine visits with two friends (and a cute dog) and recalls her single mother, but mostly she devotes her days to harvesting, planting, and cooking. (Its multiple loving food montages make Little Forest arguably Korea’s best-ever foodie film.)
